A note from Steve: “Most of us are trying to avoid our pain, in spite of the fact that it is an inevitable and crucial part of the human experience. In fact, we are never so fully human as when we surrender to the reality of our wounds. Only when we stay with our pain can we hope to learn what it has to teach us in the hopes of ultimately transforming it into something meaningful and life-giving that may just propel us into the life we’ve always wanted.  But it is hard learning how to integrate our wounds into who we are.  I will help you.”

“The pessimist complains about the wind; the optimist expects it to change; the realist adjusts the sails.” -William Arthur Ward
