Is this group for me?
It is completely understandable to feel overwhelmed by the constant news cycle filled with injustice and suffering. Most of us have enough on our plates just managing daily life—making meals, going to work or school, parenting, and facing our own immediate challenges—without carrying the weight of the world, too. Adding that relentless stress can kick our nervous system into a “fight, flight, or freeze” state, making those everyday tasks feel even more difficult.
You might be noticing changes in your sleep or appetite, or experiencing feelings of panic, distress, or deep lethargy in your body. Know that you are not alone in experiencing these feelings. If this resonates with you, this group is for you!
What we will cover
- Nervous System Regulation: Explore how your nervous system works and learn practical tools to manage stress, reduce reactivity, and cultivate stability.
- Mindfulness Skills: Practice foundational techniques to increase presence and awareness in your daily life.
- Note: This is an educational group and is not a substitute for individual psychotherapy.
Participant Information
This group is for adults 18+ who are able to participate in a respectful manner.
To ensure a safe and respectful space, all members agree to the following:
- Confidentiality: What is shared stays here. We protect the privacy and identity of all participants.
- Respectful Communication: Use “I” statements, practice active listening, and maintain a non-judgmental attitude.
- Skill-Focused: While we share personal stressors to build connection, our primary focus is learning and practicing regulation skills rather than active venting.
Group Etiquette: Please attend all sessions on time from a private, quiet space. Use headphones if others are nearby. Recording is strictly prohibited.
