HeadshotScreen181127 - 004Gary Arfstrom, LPC, offers decades of rich experience in the fields of counseling, teaching, and other helping professions in Oregon and internationally. Fully bilingual in Spanish and English, Gary specializes in seeing children, teens, and adults over the age of 50, and emphasizes an honest and compassionate relationship with his clients. He strives for ongoing improvement of his cultural understanding beginning with the history, values, needs, and strengths of his clients. Gary offers a holistic and eclectic counseling experience. Sometimes this means blending effective evidenced-based practices, including, for example, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Stress Relief, and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) models. Together, with his clients, Gary develops the goals, objectives, and plans focusing on their particular concerns. The client’s unique history, experience, and cultural background are the principle strategic focus for healing somatic (body) and emotional pain.
